Meet the KarmaBums

Home

Fourscore and many years ago (or so), I found myself in Berchtesgaden working for the US Army.  Most of the workers were from the local area, and I was lucky enough to become friends with some wonderful people who introduced me to their culture and customs.

When you check into the campground we will provide you with a list of activities and craftsmen you may not otherwise have ever found.  Walk in, greet them with a hearty "Servus", and say, "Ich bin ein KarmaBum".

Rainer

Rainer takes care of the Camping Kits from his home in Germany.  When you get to the campground and check in, you can be sure that your Camping Kit will have been carefully packed and double-checked.  And if you have any problems or questions you will have Rainer's telephone number.  You may never see him, but rest assured you are not alone.  Click on the thumbnails below.

Rainer lives under the "Sleeping Witch"

He lives in a beautiful house that his father built.

A wonderful family lives in the house that Rainer's father built.

The largest town in the area is Berchtesgaden.  The road to the campground in the center of this picture.

Russell Russell works on the website (such as it is) and hopes one day to become a full-time KarmaBum.  He will be the one answering emails and helping you plan your trip.

Russell lives with his wife in Northern
California.  They share a passion for travel.

This is not a thumbnail, but is a shot of the classic
Spanish bull on the horizon that I like.
